Looking back over nearly 50 years of Ministry, all we can say is that time flew by so quickly. In a nutshell, the Lord called us as travelling missionaries to various countries. We spent 7 years in the Transkei and after that we pioneered a  work amongst the Bushmen in the Kalahari Desert of Botswana and in the 90’s we pioneered a work in the Gwemba Valley, next to Lake Kariba amongst the Tonga’s. Leadership training was done in Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania. We have visited Nigeria 17 times and spoke at some of their Conventions. Also up to Niger and Benin we could distribute literature in French, Arabiac and the Hausa Languages and trained leaders.  We visited the Ukraine and Mauritius 5 times.

Father God in His mercy and grace has divinely protected us on many occasions from hippo’s and crocodiles and we had some narrow escapes from lions and elephants and buffalo. In many areas we penetrated heathen darkness and satan and his hindering spirits had to be resisted. We saw God’s miracle power as He demonstrated that He is the Most High God. Looking back we realize, during all our trips, God was faithful.

I really battled with my health on many occasions and in my weakness and brokenness Werna and I could just spent much time in God’s Presence. I thank God for my wife who accompanied me on many trips. Again God’s faithfulness, protection and the prayers of many people and the financial support made all the outreaches possible.

At the ages of 75 and 71 we are residing in Bloemfontein and physically I am not able to travel in Africa, as my season is over. At present we are distributing christian literature in different languages wherever we go.

On one of my last days at BI, looking through the window over the sea and the mountains, I said to the Lord:” If You can use me, here am I, send me”. We have a lot of precious memories of what the Lord has done. And we realised that ministry is all about Him!
